Hi! I’m Liliana, a Toronto-based portrait and fine art photographer with a lifelong love of visual storytelling. My journey with photography began when I was twelve, after my mother handed me a film camera. That simple gesture sparked a passion that’s been a constant thread throughout my life. Before turning my focus fully to photography, I spent many years as a creative producer in television – a career that honed my instincts for shaping stories, drawing out emotion, and connecting deeply with people.

What draws me most to portrait photography is the connection. I’m a people person, and I thrive on creating a space where my subjects feel seen and free to be themselves. I approach every session as a collaboration built on trust, curiosity, and creativity. I want the experience of working together to feel natural and enjoyable – a mix of great conversation, laughter, and ease that allows the real you to emerge. My hope is that you leave not only with images you love, but with a meaningful and memorable experience.

 

That same commitment to storytelling and authentic connection has guided my professional work as well. Since 2018, I’ve had the privilege of serving as the official photographer for the DCD Dance Hall of Fame, creating portraits of Canadian artists who have shaped the world of dance. My work has appeared in The Globe & Mail, The Toronto Star, University of Toronto Magazine, The Dance Current, Women to Watch Media, and Mind Over Matter Magazine.

 

Alongside my portrait work, I explore the quieter side of photography through minimalist landscapes – images that focus on form, light, and space to create a sense of calm and contemplation. I also love to travel and capture the essence of a place, distilling its character into images that feel timeless and evocative. No matter the subject, whether it’s a portrait session, a sweeping landscape, or a fleeting moment on the street, my goal is always the same: to create photographs that resonate and endure.
